I came to purchase three bottles of wine over the Easter Holiday. I was with my fiance who did not have her ID present (she was not buying). Understand state laws require all parties to have ID present. So she went to the car to retrieve her ID. As I lost my spot in line and waited an extra ten minutes, i expressed to the sales associate and her manager the inconvenience. When my fiance returned with her ID, the business owner then in a very unprofessional manner explained how he is not required to sell the alcohol and I can go elsewhere--he proceeded to pull the three bottles of wine off the counter and into the back, as i stood there in line with other customers watching. Here is the problem: This place does not serve customer and treat customers as their assets. They recognize because of state laws that they have somewhat of a monopoly and as a result can treat customers poorly. So the model is this: customer complains---refuse to sell product. The model should be, customer complains--address the complaint professionally. This is how I run a successful business. I have lived in the Morris County area for 25 years and will not be returning to this place of business or recommending it to any of my friends.
Nice people, pretty good craft beer and wine selection.
An outstanding selection of both domestic and imported wine. One of the few locations that carry my favorite brandy Gran Duque d'Alba. This brandy is the finast Spanish brandy from Jerez in Andalucia.
Live in Oceanside, CA and ordered the limited edition Blade Runner 2049 Johnnie Walker Black Scotch. Shipped the bottles through FEDEX in three days packaged extremely professional with care. Awesome customer service and sound logistical practices. Will do business again.
I recognize that this might be the only option to buy beer and liquor in Chester, but that is probably why this is such a horrible place. Went in on Saturday afternoon and the beer cooler looked like it had been looted. Need help to check on stock? Nope - not here; no one available to answer questions. I finally pieced together 4 six-packs (couldn't find what I really wanted) but the line was ridiculous! One cashier and at least 15 people in line - on a Saturday! I set the box down, walked out and drove to Bottle King in Morris Plains where I got exactly what I wanted and very quickly. And I saved $6 on a case of New Belgium Voodoo Ranger.
