Bernie's is a great, comfortable spot to hang, dig some music and spend time with friends. Has a real down home feel.
Love this place! I've lived in Chester for 20 years, you can always count on this place to be open late. I have to comment on that silly review about the septic. Anyone that has worked in Chester knows that all the stores and restaurants have that smell from the town septic. I think it's very unfair to write something like that. Where is she going to get free club soda? People are so silly. Rock on Bernie's!
I get that it's a hole in the wall type bar, but they really need to fix the septic repugnant stench that fills the room every time a toilet flushes. And charging for a club soda?
Had friends in from out of town on a Sunday. We were looking for a place to relax and have a drink. We called the local Chester restaurants and everything was closed. Then we remembered somebody telling us about Bernie's. Sure enough they were open and we were pleasantly surprised to see that they had a pool table. The bartender Eric was very friendly and knowledgeable. What a cool place! We will definitely come back and check out their live music.
