As a note I have no complaints about the waiter David He was great. They don't have falling stars for a rating but that's what I would give it
To start off with they tried to pass off a cheaper whiskey for Bulit Rye, then when we ordered dinner they came out reported they had no calamari (as an appetizer) 18 minutes later, they came out after we had placed our dinner order and told us they had no Chilean sea bass. Their excuse was they had a busy week. The rest of our food came out cold and overcooked, and the salmon was dry we sent sent one back that person did not eat that night. They did take off the bill to dinner we sent back and the whiskey along with the stingy order of appetizers we ordered. I definitely could have found a better way to spend $300.
Wow – what a horrible evening. We have been going here for 25 years and always good. We ha my folks 50th Anniversary party 3 years ago, nephews christening part, my brothers engagement party and my brothers rehearsal dinner - always good. Tonight, service was awful we waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us and another 15 minutes before drinks came. I was there with my family (3 kids) - my oldest ordered Pizza. Food came except the pizza and we were assured it would be out soon. My NY Strip tasted bad and smelled bad clearly a very stale (being kind) piece of meat, the waiter disagreed and argued with me where I finally had to say, “I don’t want this - take this way and remove it from the bill!.” The rest of the family continued eating, except my son without his pizza. Everyone was finished for about 10 minutes when the pizza finally showed up at which point my son asked for it to be wrapped to go. I got the check, only to learn they overcharged for a side salad on my wife’s order – they charged me $10 for what should have been $. Normally I can tolerate one or even two disappointing parts of a dinner out, but this was too much. This is the first bad expedience here in 20 plus years, but bad enough for this review and for me not to return.
Very warm and cozy. The food was good although the shrimp was a little off. The burger was awesome as was the pizza. They have live music which is awesome. Graffiti Canon played and they rocked! Definitely a good place to eat.
AWFUL Worst experience ever. Soup cold had to be returned. the order we placed was lost. My husband ordered pizza the rest ordered hamburgers. The pizza was brought out about 20 minutes after we ordered we waited 40 minutes and nothing else came out! The manager said they were busy!! other patrons were done with their entire meals and came in after we did. I had similar problem years ago.Manager and staff all should be replaced. Horrible ending to what was a nice day.
I had dinner here recently, and I was not impressed. The interior was warm and inviting, they even had a fire going in the room I was in, and the server was polite and attentive. The food, however, was nothing special. I hadn't been to the Publick House in over 20 years and I was hoping to bring the rest of my family back. That won't be happening.
